My childhood home was chaotic. Arguments, contention and elevated voices were commonplace, especially between my parents. You would never know any of this based on our church behavior.
I used to have such a romanticized idea of the writing process. I would grab a cup of coffee, open my laptop as my journal and favorite gel pen rested comfortable next to the keyboard.
For as long as I can remember, my weight has been an issue. An issue for myself, an issue for others, and an issue based on societal messaging and expectations.
